Meetup at Bella Bru at 8:15 and be ready to roll by 8:30. If you can, carpool up to Salmon Falls Bridge (not a lot of parking space). I can take 3 bikes and riders. Let me know if you want to carpool with me. We will ride on the North side by crossing the river via Salmon Falls Bridge to the trailhead. Pace will be based on trail condition and the group as no rider will be left behind. This ride is geared towards the strong beginner. Ride distance will be about 12-17 miles and take about 2-3 hours. Intent is to get out on some great trails and challenge your skills. Should have a basic mountain bike skills (shifting, braking, etc). Some hills along the Salmon Falls trail. This trail is more challenging than Granite Bay, however not as difficult as Foresthill Divide Loop trail.

After the ride, all are welcome to enjoy some coffee and carbs at Bella Bru to socialize and swap lies about the ride. There is also a pizza place next to Bella Bru as an option as well.

Helmets are required. This is not a trail for hybrid bikes and bikes should be in good mechanical condition. Call me at [masked] if you have any questions.

Steve is going to lead the faster paced group. So I removed the rider limit. All those who want to ride the faster pace, plan on riding with Steve. I still plan on riding down Sweetwater to the old Salmon Falls Bridge and over to Salmon Falls trail. Also, I am planning on picking up a rider at the Watt/Manlove literail station at 7:15. If you want to carpool, from there to Bella Bru, shoot me an email. I have room for two more riders and bikes.

OK, Bryan confirmed that the old Salmon Falls bridge is out of the water. So we will ride Sweetwater from the top (near the new Salmon Falls bridge) for about 2 miles, cut over to the old Salmon Falls bridge, and connect to Salmon Falls trail for the rest of the ride.

I bumped up the RSVP limit. There will be two groups. I have had several folks indicate they would like to ride a faster pace and charge up Heart Attack hill. I am fairly sure the old Sweetwater Falls bridge is out of the water. If I can get that confirmed, we will head down Sweetwater trail, across the bridge and catch Salmon Falls. The ride back will be all Salmon Falls. Anyone know for sure if the old bridge is out of the water?

Silke, I will be driving up 50 from Bradshaw past Folsom. So if you can get to any one of the literail stations along there, I will gladly give you a ride. Where abouts do you live (not your address just major cross streets in your area), perhaps someone else lives nearby and can give you a lift.

We merged Steve's ride with this one and had a fast and a slow group. Temps were perfect and not many folks on the trial. Great trail to challenge your skills and endurance on. As some found there limits. See photos. Thx to Mike and Bobby for heading up the faster paced group. And Peter and Kim for sweeping the slower group.

WOW, what a ride !!! I won't be forgetting this one anytime soon :-) And as sore as I am this morning, I'd definitely do it again. Thanks Phred, you always make a great leader ! And the camaraderie with the rest of the group is always superb.

What a gorgeous day! We had a cool breeze during the entire ride and the sun sparkling shimmer as usual. Cliffs? What cliffs?

trail was a blast, but i couldn't handle it... nor could my cleats, one anyway...never seen a speedplay come apart like that, and i've run 'em for 13 years. in fact, those exact cleats may be that old, if not close :) i'll make sure to have my spuds and mtb shoes next time, or maybe my mountain bike might be a good call too!
