Explore the newest addition to public access open space on the Georgetown Divide. The Cronan Ranch Regional Trails Park was established in 2005 by a partnership between the Bureau of Land Management and the American River Conservancy. We'll be meeting pople from the Cool Cycling Club there too.
Starting at the Pedro Hill parking area, you are now free to explore the more than 1500 acres of this archetypal Sierra Foothills ecosystem. There are miles of trails, some hard, some easy. Vistas, dozens of geocaches, the South Fork American River, an old movie set, wildlife and pure spring water await you here.
This ride is suitable for strong beginners, but there will be several long hard climbs so both rider and bike need to be in shape. We won't leave anyone behind, but be sure you have a functional granny gear. Trails at Cronan Ranch are generally nontechnical dirt roads with some single track and lots of uphill climbing and some fast downhills
If anybody wants to car pool or convoy, post a message here and we'll coordinate.

Remember, HELMETS ARE REQUIRED. Also, bring water, food, sunscreen, and a fully functioning mountain bike.
