This is a traveling meetup. I will be at Mammoth Mountain from Thursday 8/27 through Sunday 8/30 and will be riding mountain on Friday and Saturday. I would love to introduce and show people interested in coming down the downhill trail system at Mammoth. Mammoth Mtn. has trails catering from the beginner MTB'er to the Expert who likes to do big drops. I consider the majority of the trail system to be set up for beginner to intermediate riders. Gondola passes run $39 for one day or two days for $69. Lodging varies from about $80 and up per night. I will be staying at Mammoth Ski and Racquet Condo's which is convient as it is accessable directly from the trail. If you have others coming with you that are not into riding Mammoth offers wonderful hikes and senery. Day trips to Lake Mary or a hike to Devils Post pile along with several other locations. A little bit more about the riding. Mammoth offers approximately 3000' of decent between the top of the mountain and the village. A shuttle bus takes you and the bike from the village in town to the gondola at the mountain, the gondola takes you the rest of the way up. Average time to get from the top of the mountain to town is 2 hours and for the most part is all downhill. For more info visit the following web site www.mammothmountain.com Everyone is responsiable for getting their own lodging, meals and lift tickets. I will be available to lead groups on various trails down the mountain. We will likely finish up each day with a trip to the local brewery for dinner and evenings will be soaking our weary bones in the hot springs to recuperate for the next days riding. If you have additional questions drop me an e-mail.
Marsh to awnser your question yes they do have bike rentals, either from Mammoth or several bike shops in town. Information can be found at the web link I posted in the announcement.
I reserved a campsite in New Shady Rest campground. There is room for 3 or 4 more if anybody is interested. Just let me know!

I talked to one of the employees at Mike's Bike, he said the weather should be nice this weekend since this week it rained. Bummer Matt, Jeannette and Steve you are not able to go.
I saw that there are flight specials in to the place. Do they have bike rentals?
