Hello MTB Fans~
As we round into August we are tipping the scales with rider attendance in the forties! I think in august we can break this record and hit 50+ riders! If you've never attended, you're missing out. Meet new friends, catch up with old ones, ride your Mountain Bike, get some exercise and socialize after with PIZZA! Here is your chance to ride with all skill sets, bike preferences and endurance levels. We have the ride for you with four different ride selections; Advance, Fast and Slow intermediate, and finally beginner. All rides will have a point ride leader and sweeper. Radio communication keeps all groups on schedule and informed. If you fall behind the sweeper you're moving too slow. If at any time you feel you'd like to move up or down in a ride group, all rides regroup once on the far side of the water tower. we will check with all groups to see if anyone wants to change their group.
Here is a break down of each ride:
Advance: This ride is a quick paced ride with few meetups and even fewer breaks. Expect to cover 12-14 miles of uneven terrain that changes moment to moment. You must have demonstrated experience in other rides for some time to move into this group. Please note: You'll need a strong light to ride with this group. We often push the limits of ride time and often need lights to return. Please bring a well tuned bike, pads, helmet, 3+ liters of water, spare tubes, bike tool, pump and a high powered single lamp or two lesser systems and a motivating attitude.
Fast Intermediate: This ride is one that covers lots of ground in a small amount of time. Expect to cover 10-12 miles of fast open ground with a mixture of single track. Advanced obstacles will be avoided but you will test your track standing and rock riding skills. Breaks are set and meetups occur often to keep the group together. This a ride that will work you out and pump the adrenaline. Lights are strongly recommended for this ride. Please bring a well tuned bike, helmet, plenty of water and a tube with a patch kit. There are lots of thorns out there!
Slow Intermediate: This ride is similar to the fast intermediate besides the pace is a bit slower. This ride is perfect for those riders who are experienced in operating a bike smoothly and efficiently but the wind in the lungs isn't there and you need to build the cardio back. Breaks are often and the pace is moderate. Expect to cover 8-10 miles in about 90 minutes. Please bring a well tuned bike, helmet, plenty of water, spare tube, bike tool.
Beginner: Well if you know how to ride bike but have never ventured of the pavement... this ride is for you, If you are recovering from an injury...this ride is for you, towing your son or daughter on a trail a bike...this ride is for you, If you are racing the following day...this ride is for you, If you're tired of being out of shape and short of breath all the time...this ride is for you, if all you have is a Hybrid bike...this ride is for you. Wanna learn how to ride a Mountain bike? This is not the ride for you. Check the meetup calendar for my personal MTB instruction classes.
All Rides will regroup after for the Pizza party. Five dollars buys you two pieces of pizza. we have the pizza delivered from Round table pizza. The money covers the pies, delivery and tip. Please find me before the ride begins to pay for pizza. This event is made possible by those who like to volunteer to the greater good of the group. Please if you enjoy yourself, thank a ride leader. Please know that riding a Mountain can be dangerous, please bring safety gear. Remember, you are riding at your own risk, please be careful and enjoy yourself!

Hello fellow riders. As an FYI Steve is in Boston and I will be in Catalina during this ride, but we wanted to keep the weekly ride going for all those who enjoy the Thursday night adventures. Please if you know the trails fairly well offer to be a ride leader for one of the groups. And as always be save and have fun. We will catch you on the next outting.
