Meet at he Hub (Hammerin' Wheels' sponsor!!) at 9am to rent some bikes and head up to Northstar as soon as we get our gear. I plan on staying until the bitter end at Northstar and missing the 6pm closing time at the Hub. (I will be riding the following day in Auburn on my rental bike if anyone's interested...)
Difficulty:
This can be a beginner ride, but most of the trails have technical sections. The runs aren't that long and you can always walk your bike if it gets too hard: it's up to you to decide if this is a ride you will be comfortable on. Check out the website (http://www.northstara...) or this thread at MTBR (http://forums.mtbr.co...) for more info if you are on the fence. I plan on doing intermediate trails from the top of Vista to the village most of the day. I will be riding like I ski; there will be few (if any) stops on the hill, but we will wait and regroup at the lift line.
Cost:
Lift tickets are $39 for the day. If you want/need bike rentals they are $79 for all day and $59 after 2pm. Or you can hit the Hub for a $25/day rental (but they they close at 6pm).
What to Bring:
As always, a helmet and a mountain bike in good repair are required.
-A full suspension mountain bike is reccomended
-Bring energy bars & water/electrolyte drink & food (or buy there, but it's expensive)
-Bring at least 1 spare tube and a patch kit/pump. Walking sucks.
-You can do it without armor or full face helmet (but I will borrow/rent a full face helmet for myself)
-Gas money if you aren't driving
Hey Bobby, Connor ran into Jeannette today at Mad Cats. She told him about this. He is dying to get his new Glory 1 out for some rides. Can he connect with you and go up in your truck? I'll handle your gas if you can work it out.
