Meetup at Bella Bru at 8:45 and be ready to roll by 9:00. If you can, carpool up to Salmon Falls Bridge (not a lot of parking space). I can take 3 bikes and riders. Let me know if you want to carpool with me. Those who wish to meet at the trailhead, we should be there and rolling by 9:20 or so. We will ride on the North side by crossing the river via Salmon Falls Bridge to the trailhead. Pace will be on the slow side based on trail condition and the group as no rider will be left behind. This ride is geared towards the strong beginner. If you want to ride fast, you will be disapointed. Ride distance will be about 12-17 miles and take about 3 hours. Intent is to get out on some great trails and challenge your skills. Should have a basic mountain bike skills (shifting, braking, etc). Some hills along the Salmon Falls trail. This trail is more challenging than Granite Bay (read as more technical and more hills).
After the ride, all are welcome to enjoy some coffee and carbs at Bella Bru to socialize and swap lies about the ride. There is also a pizza place next to Bella Bru as an option as well. Feel free to discuss below.
Helmets are required. This is not a trail for hybrid bikes and bikes should be in good mechanical condition. Call me at [masked] if you have any questions.
Light Rain will not cancel this ride. For rider safety, if forecast is steady or heavy rain, we will cancel this ride. And switch ride to Granite Bay. Because I like Chandra's laugh as she splashes thru the puddles at GB. So if rainy at all, please watch the calendar and emails. If any changes, I will email all yes RSVPs of the changes on Tuesday evening.
Funny Phred! I'll try and act like a giddy girl again as I ride through the puddles!! :>)
Blaine, there are a couple of RSVPs that most likely will charge that hill of death you speak of. Tom and Bryan I suspect are up for it. As usual we will most likely break into a faster and slower group.
Barbara brings up a good point. If you figure you are going to ride with the faster group you may want to post it here. Then we can plan on the carpools based on the group you will ride with. Since we may not all be finishing at the same time (faster grp sooner than the slower grp). Just trying to plan ahead and minimize confusion.
OK I am going to open up the RSVPs a little bit to allow more folks in. I do hope we can break into two similar sized groups. The faster group will be a leaderless ride as you should know the trail or hang with someone who does.
Thx Brian. I will take you up on the offer.
FYI, if the bridge is still out of the water (and I believe it is), I was going to go down Sweetwater and cut across the bridge to Salmon Falls. Howerve, on the return take Salmon Falls all the way back.
I will ride with Bryan's group- meet at Sweetwater t.h? or Salmon Falls t.h.?
aNNa, We are meeting at Bela Bru and carpooling up to the trail head. If you are planning on meeting at the trail head, we will meet at the Salmon Falls bridge (on south side of bridge, wide shoulder for parking). Access to either trail head from that spot.
Carol is the only real Bandito, and she is really really picky about who she lets in her gang-o-banditos. haha
I am going to call the real "Bandito" and try and get her to come.
Hey Phred, I'm having power steering issues and may have to leave my rig in the shop. I tried to change up to a "Maybe" but I guess there's no way to be a maybe. Anywho, if I can make it, I'll Bandito your ride, k?
I will meet at the Salmon Falls Bridge in the AM as well, if anyone needs a ride from the Roseville area I can take 3 people/bikes - e-mail me - mrandrewbradley@gmail.com
It will likely rain a little during the night making the trail PERFECT!
A cup of Starbucks says you don't show Scott.
