Mountainbike Lake Natoma! D12

Sutter St. Light Rail Station (map)

Selected By: Marsh

Ride Summary
Terrain: Rolling hills with a couple of hard (but short) climbs.
Distance: 12 Miles
Speed: 8 - 14 mph
Rider Level: D12 (Advanced Beginner)
Sweep: Yes

Join us for the 12 mile dirt loop around Lake Natoma. This ride is intended for people who can sustain 9 MPH or more on dirt. We tend to go kinda' fast, but we are happy to reign it in if we're pressing too hard. We would rather enjoy your company and see you come back than break speed records. It takes no more than 2 hours.
As always, helmets are required.
This event starts at the light rail station in the hope that you'll save gas, money and the environment by taking the train. The train costs $2.50 (cheaper than you can drive) and schedules can be seen here...

Just make sure your train says "Folsom" on it.

An RSVP is a Social Commitment. Your Hosts and Organizers go to great lengths and often personal expense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event.
Just so you know, this meeting is posted in three different Meetup groups so even if there are no RSVPs here, there may be several elsewhere.

Forecast for 13:00 hrs is 20 mph winds from the south attendant with up to 2" of rain. Is that a bad thing? Hummmmm. Only if the tree falls on top of you?

there might be a storm coming but there is a warm q`bole with cold beer at the end of the ride. that's more than enough reason to brave the elements.

see you all out there. :)

I laugh at rain, and drink hot coco... from inside my warm, dry kitchen. :D Ya'll have fun. I'll enjoy the pics over an adult drink. OK, seriously, my ankle is pretty sketchy and no way I'm not gonna fall in the mud. What fun would it me if I didn't?

The only thing that bothers me is the wet weather makes my hair frizzy and unmanageable.

Drove up to meet you guys at Karen's. Must have gotten there late. Do they even serve beer there?

Karen's is really expensive and if the employee to customer ratio goes anywhere North of 1.5:1 (that's 1.5 employees per customer), they take forever to serve you.
We go next door to Q'bole. I bailed early because I was covered with mud and didn't want to drag it in to their restaurant.

Ahhhh, I checked there after a few minutes. Thought that more likely your kind of place. Thought a clean, dry photographer would have been a windfall for the "dirty dozen" (+3)
