For strong beginners and above (you should be comfortable with shifting/braking and hills) who are looking to ride a more slow and social pace. This is a moderate for beginners with some short, but challenging hills and is about 15 miles total. Should be comfortable riding 10 miles at a recreational pace. Remember, THIS RIDE IS FOR FUN and NOT INTENDED TO BE A TRAINING RIDE.
This is a no rider left behind ride. We will stop at the top of all major hills to rest and catch our breath. We will take brakes as needed to ensure all riders are ready to continue. Meeting at 8:45, however we ride at 9:00. The plan is to ride for about 3 hours and include riding out to Dotons Pt.
All riders are expected to have mountain bikes in sound working condition. Not a trail for hybrid bikes. It is a good idea to have some supplies (spare tube, patch kit, pump, etc). Bring some water (there are several places along the way to refill) and a lite snack if you feel the need.
Rain will not cancel this ride. It will only enhance the experience.
As always, HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event. If running late or have questions please call me at [masked].
Still working on the central heating. City wants to see system design before signing off on the permits.
Joshua , If I were you, I would go and buy a brand new fsr that way you wont have any problems. Right Phred ?
Joshua, as long as the bike is functioning (brakes work, shifters work, tires hold air, etc.) you should be fine on this ride.
Note to self: To avoid dog house, be cautious of any long hills - Kim will be on the loose. haha
