This will be a ride on the Forresthill Divide Trail Loop (about 8 miles east of Auburn). The FDLT is just over 10 miles long and has plenty of hills to test your cardio. Those folks who are familiar can ride any part of the trail on their own at their own pace (connector, confluence, stagecoach, tunnel, etc.). That being said, I offer to any folks who have not been there and want to ride the trails, I will lead a slower and possibly shorter loop so you can get familiar with the trail. The idea is for all levels to get out and enjoy another one of the many trails in the area. FDLT has some hills to climb. If you can ride Granite Bay without walking any hills, you will find this trail a good challenge as a step up in difficulty. And remember, walking your bike is OK (we are out to have fun, not race). The ride wil be sweept and we will stop at the top of hills for folks to catch up/rest up.
Plan is to be riding by 9:15 and end before noon. Depending on your pace the loop can be ridden in about an hour and take up to 3 hours. We are meeting at the Drivers Flat trail head because there is more parking and a picnic table/port-a-potty. Call me at [masked] if you have any questions.
A side note. This trail is also great for running and hiking, so if your SO or family do not MTB ride, they can still enjoy the trail.
Bring a helmet, water, a MTB bike in good working condition and a fun attitude for some challenging trails just east of Auburn.
There is some great snow on the trails.
Rode out there today and snow is not deap but it is fun.We should have a lull or break in the rain/snow for the ride so dress warm, bring dry clothes and get ready for a good time.
Rain will not cancel the ride. It will only make it better! For the newer riders, I will be taking a slow (safe) pace. Others may ride a faster pace.
Anyone want to carpool and hit Natomas ride @ 1:00 or just do both rides.
