For strong beginners and above (you should be comfortable with shifting/braking and hills) who are looking to ride a more slower and social pace. This is a moderate for beginners with some short, but challenging hills and is about 15 miles total. Should be comfortable riding 10 miles at a recreational pace. Remember, THIS RIDE IS FOR FUN and NOT INTENDED TO BE A RACE TRAINING RIDE. However, Steve G will lead a faster paced group for those who want to kick it up a knotch and ride at an strong intermediate pace.
This is a no rider left behind ride. We will stop at the top of all major hills to rest and catch our breath. We will take brakes as needed to ensure all riders are ready to continue. Meeting at 8:45, however we ride at 9:00. The plan is to ride for about 3 hours. Should be back at the cars around noon.
All riders are expected to have mountain bikes in sound working condition. Not a trail for hybrid bikes. It is a good idea to have some supplies (spare tube, patch kit, pump, etc). Bring some water (there are several places along the way to refill) and a lite snack if you feel the need.
A Starbuck's stop after the ride is a strong possibility if anyone is up for it. Discussion?????
As always, HELMETS ARE REQUIRED! If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event. If running late or have questions please call me at [masked].
OK I am taking Steve up on his offer to lead a faster paced group and open up the limit. Lets have some fun.
I will not be at the ride. Steve Glaude will be leading the ride and coordinating all the groups. Thanks Steve.
It's forecasting lots of rain here in Napa Co. Is it in Sacramento, too? When will we know if it is canceled?
Heavy rain will cancell but don't be afraid to get a little wet and muddy!
I'll update in the morning...
I'll lead a fast group if you'd like to open more spots for additional riders?
