Mountainbike Lake Natoma! D12

Sutter St. Light Rail Station (map)

Selected By: Marsh

Ride Summary
Terrain: Rolling hills with a couple of hard (but short) climbs.
Distance: 12 Miles
Speed: 8 - 14 mph
Rider Level: D12 (Intermediate)
Sweep: Yes

Join us for the 12 mile dirt loop around Lake Natoma. This ride is intended for people who can sustain 9 MPH or more on dirt. We tend to go kinda' fast, but we are happy to reign it in if we're pressing too hard. We would rather enjoy your company and see you come back than break speed records. It should take no more than 2 hours. If you cannot maintain this pace, you are not being fair to the rest of the riders.
As always, helmets are required.
This event starts at the light rail station in the hope that you'll save gas, money and the environment by taking the train. The train costs $2.50 (cheaper than you can drive) and schedules can be seen here...

Just make sure your train says "Folsom" on it.

An RSVP is a Social Commitment. Your Hosts and Organizers go to great lengths and often personal expense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event.

I expected a challenge because it is listed as intermediate, I am a strong beginner trying to better my skills and cardio. Trying out the next level. I liked the technical areas on the north side, but I wasn't part of the group that did the killer hill, that will be later for me in my MTB life. It was super fun and of course a wonderful group of people to ride with.
