Use the starting location indicated in this link. I am unable to get the Meetup map link to work correctly.
Once at Cronin Ranch, we'll have a little snack and possibly do some swimming. Then we'll head over to the newest trail, the Salmon Falls Connector, and make our way back to the starting point along the American River. There is quite a bit of climbing along the way back down to Salmon Falls.
At the risk of sounding stupid in the interest of certainty, are we meeting at the steel bridge which crosses the American River on Salmon Falls, or the point south of Green Valley on El Dorado Hills Rd indicated by the "Salmon Falls Trailhead" link under "Location" on this page?
I'm going to start at Cronin Ranch parking lot. Marsh is outa town and will respond in a few days I'm sure. Also, check the link again.
I'm with Nate . Starting at Cronin Ranch parking lot just more of my speed. Also I know for a fact that trail is not fully open. Connector part is closed, yes you can hop gate, but at the end of this ride would be very hard to get back to parking lot.
Brigade is not build yet, water is very high in the lake which will put every body in to peculiar position of bushwhacking through poison oak, and other dense growth.
I talked to FATRAC and one other guy about the trail. It is not open until fall of this year. The real problem lies in the fact the trailhead is not complete and one can only get on the trail after hiking through heavy bushes and poison oak walking/hiking the bike. Marsh, you asked...so I found out. I am up for starting at the Cronin Ranch pkg lot and doing the ranch and the singletrack overlooking Salmon Falls bridge then turning around giving about 15 miles and 2400'. Non-technical mostly!!!
