The first Prairie City Race is coming up at the end of this month. That means it's time to start training!
This is the first of the Hammerin' Wheels beginner training rides. I plan on doing one a weekend to get us ready for the races. They will be slower paced training rides focused on minimizing stops. We will start at Twin Rocks and Boulder and do the TBF Granite Bay race loop (including going to the parking lot) so we can get a full 6 miles in. I Plan on only doing 2 or 3 stops this time, but they will all be short breaks. The plan is to be able to do it without stopping by the first PCRS race.
I will be near the back of the pack to make sure no one gets lost, but if you are not familiar with the Granite Bay trails, this may not be the ride for you. If you want to join us and rock the whole thing without stopping feel free! You can use this as your excuse to get out and train even if you only see me at the beginning =)
Make sure to bring a bike, helmet, water and a can-do attitude.
Also, You can pre-register on the PCRS website. Spots are filling up! "As of 9pm 3/08 we are at 356 out of 500 max. (71% full) for the first race. Register now!" http://racemtbikes.co...
Does anyone know who built the teeter-totter and all those little log rides? They're my new favorite part of GB... so fun!
Yeah, the teeter-totter was sweet. I heard it was taken down already though... I'm glad I got to try it!
Hey Bobby... the teeter-totter is on the way out from Twin Rock as you head towards the Parking lot at the beach. It's out maybe a mile from here (Twin Rocks Parking).
The jumps are fun, but a challenge to find. If I can make it I can show you the secret location :)
