Quarry Trail and Stagecoach

Auburn Confluence (bridge to Cool) (map)

Selected By: A former member

Climb Time with no technical stuff. One of the last power pushes for the Group going to Moab and of course all others are invited. See March 27 for lots of pics and info. After the Quarry Trail out and back, we will head up Stagecoach...about 30-40 min of steady up on a big fire road. Not technical, but a little gravely on the way down. Purpose of this meetup is to toughen up your climbing attitude without any chance of crashing before the trip.

I hate to ask, Nate, but can you tell me exactly how to find the starting point. I get lost. Do I just take 49 from 80, then turn right at the bridge?

Ditto, Lisa S, on where exactly.
Hywy 49 for about 2-1/2 miles, then the road makes a right turn over the bridge and then immediately turn off the road and park there?

Parking - do not turn onto the bridge. Go straight and park on the right or left side along the road shoulder. You will see the cars and hopefully find a parking space close.

Lisa, Lezley and others: I've updated the little red baloon showing the parking area. Come on 49 down, down to the river. DO NOT make a right and cross the bridge to Cool, but pass the bridge 200 yds...you'll see us all. We park on left and right of Old Forrest Hill Rd. just past the bridge to Cool. FYI the Coolest 24 hour mtb race starts just after 12 noon, one could go up the road 5 miles and see the racers on Olmstead loop. Sadly, there is a parking fee. Thanks for asking you two. N

It was a great ride. I just ran out of gas after Quarry and didn't do Stagecoach. Maybe next time.

What a ride! Quarry Trail, the climb up Stagecoach, and then Manzanita Trail. It has been a while since I felt that tired after a ride. The fish tacos and chips and salsa hit the spot after this ride. Thanks for organizing the ride Nate!
