Cronan Ranch Climbing Practice

Cronan Ranch Regional Park (map)

One of the last rides to really push yourself on climbing before the Moab Trip. Do the Quarry Trail on Saturday and this one on Sunday to set up the legs, butt and back for total conditioning.

I am new to Mt. Curious if the trail is friendly for a beginner rider.

Not technical at all for the first 90%. If we go down to Salmon Falls bridge, then there are some switchbacks. We will determine that at that point of the trail. The "Ranch" is double track Jeep roads going over several hills as opposed to going around them. This ride is up and down with views of the South Fork of the American River. Single track awaits us after about 4-5 miles of Jeep roads. Single track is in grassy hilly oak studded part of the "Ranch"

Thanks Nate....still undecided. Just being cautious as I don't want to slow rest of you if I am slow catching up with your guys. I will be doing the quarry trail on Sat.

    Nate~

Any idea how long we will be riding? I'm trying to figure out if I have enough time to do the ride before getting my daughter to a birthday party.

    Thanks ~Erin

Some info for Erin & for all. We are starting at 10am sharp. This later time in the a.m. so we all could be ready at the ride start. The ride:.. With some moderate stopping, I would think 3hr 15 min so, 1:15pm return time to the car. We will only go to the point where we can see the Salmon Falls bridge and not go down and back up the switchbacks as this would add 1 1/2 hours and 800 ft. I'm thinking that's too much especially since we will be doing quarry and stagecoach the day before.
