This is a traveling meetup. I will be at Mammoth Mountain from Thursday 7/29 through Sunday 8/1 and will be riding mountain on Friday and Saturday. I would love to introduce and show people interested in coming down the downhill trail system at Mammoth. Mammoth Mtn. has trails catering from the beginner MTB'er to the Expert who likes to do big drops. I consider the majority of the trail system to be set up for beginner to intermediate riders. Gondola passes run $42 for one day or two days for $75. Lodging varies from about $80 and up per night. I will be staying at Mammoth Ski and Racquet Condo's which is convenient as it is accessible directly from the trail. If you have others coming with you that are not into riding Mammoth offers wonderful hikes and scenery. Day trips to Lake Mary or a hike to Devils Post pile along with several other locations. A little bit more about the riding. Mammoth offers approximately 3000' of decent between the top of the mountain and the village. A shuttle bus takes you and the bike from the village in town to the gondola at the mountain, the gondola takes you the rest of the way up. Average time to get from the top of the mountain to town is 2 hours and for the most part is all downhill. For more info visit the following web site www.mammothmountain.com Everyone is responsible for getting their own lodging, meals and lift tickets. I will be available to lead groups on various trails down the mountain. We will likely finish up each day with a trip to the local brewery for dinner and evenings will be soaking our weary bones in the hot springs to recuperate for the next days riding. If you have additional questions drop me an e-mail.
Looks like it will be an interesting trip this year as the Mountian is suppose to open till the 4th of July for skiing.
We'll also be headed back Sunday morning if we can make this work. We'll see...
Since the last posting, I've learned that my personal "team" that travels with me might be all over the country and even overseas! It's all good.
To all if you are planning on renting a condo at Mammoth Ski and Racquet if you call Monday through Friday ask for Rosio and indicate that you would like to get the 10% discount for the Webster Bike Group.
Looks like we will have quite a group, 27 in total if all make it who RSVP'ed between the HW and Fat Tire Groups. I'm looking forward to a great weekend of biking with everyone.
I'm still a maybe for this trip. I was just checking out some really cool You tube videos of some of the trails. Check it out.

Brian, if you come down on Saturday remember it is a 3.5-4 hour drive to get there. There is no guarantee that we will meetup on the mountain unless you are in Mammoth by 8 am on Saturday. We are traveling home on Sunday morning and will not be riding that day.
