Wednesday evening ride to Doton's point~
This is a strong beginner/ slow intermediate ride (you should be comfortable with shifting, braking, hills and sweating a lot). The ride should last about 2 hours. We will meet at 5:45 and be ready to go by 6:000pm. Also, no lights are required for this ride.
To wrap things up, we will climb the water tower road 7 times (not really, just once). Jeff will be glad to pull anyone who struggles on this last leg of the ride. Or he may at least encourage you to keep trying.
Please bring a mountain bike in good working condition and wear a HELMET! If you have any questions feel free to email or call me at [masked].
Hope to see you out there.
It's starting to look like the same usual suspects as the past few weeks!
Well, it's about time Mike made his way back. Glad to see all the other "usual suspects" are ready to ride. The ride wouldn't be the same without you guys. I'm sure I'd get lost and never find my way back.
Now that I have graduations and my first summer vacation out of the way, maybe I can make it to a few more meetups. Glad to be back.
7 times? IS THAT A CHALLENGE?!
oh btw, I saw Ryan and Rob there Monday. I think they were sabotaging our course.
oh, so that's how it is? Ryan, Rob and Jeff are clandestinely doing Monday rides, just excluding the rest of us. I want to know if you guys went bolder climbing? That seems to be a hard part to mtb riding.
Actually, yesterday I was riding my neglected road bike. Did a quick 26 on the American River Bike Trail. Planning to do 30 tonight. See you guys tomorrow. Maybe there's some new trails you can show us. I think I'll let Rob, Ryan and Jeff lead this time.
Roadie! You are ousted from the Wednesday night cool kids club.
Are you sure you want to let me lead? >:)
Yesterday I saw Rob and Jeff seperately at different times, starting to wonder what's going on... On a side note it sounds like Rob won't be making this wed, but plans to keep doing them though. Jeff seems to know the area I bet he could lead us to some new and fun trails. Although they have all been fun. Win Win.
Hay, know one is suposed to know that I was out there on monday. I have to ride twice as much just to keep up with you guys. If its any consolation I did wipe out pretty good. I'm hurtin
Hope you are ok Rob. Unfortunately there is only so many ways to get around Granite Bay. We could go up outer trail and back on middle trail, but then people might get lost if they trail behind. And if I lead were going up the backside of the Water Tower. That's a challenging climb.
Sorry to hear about the wipe out, Rob. THat's funny, we were all trying to keep up with you on the rides. Does that mean we have to go out more during the week, too? JEFF, the backside of what? Have you gone mad. It wouldn't be a strong beginner/ slow intermediate ride if we go up the backside. I can't possibly change the posting again!!!!
I'll be out at granite bay at about 4:00 on thursday if anyone wants to ride again.
Another great wed ride, thanks Lisa! Thanks for the ride home as well.
Dave- Hope you feel alright after the spill. Sounded like a pretty rough one.
Haha, thanks Ryan, I'll live. I was actually just mentioning to my wife the irony of having gotten more little scrapes, bruises, and injuries in 3 weeks of mountain bike riding than I have in 6 years of motorcycle roadracing / trackdays. Then again, it's amazing how much a 10-pound cow suit will protect you even at speeds well over 100+ mph.
Thanks for the beers Mike!
Oh, if anyone is interested in seeing my Garmin data for the ride:

Ryan, you're pretty close on the water tower climb distance -- it's about 1/5 mile.
Thanks to, yet, another great Wednesday ride. Hope to see everyone out there next week.
Dave, that is really cool what the Garmin can do. Hope you're doing okay today. I guess it's part of the initiation process to take a nasty spill, get up and walk away from it.
Hey kids , I went for a ride at Granite Bay where I saw two rather large rattle snakes in defferent locations. So be careful out there.
But I heard they only strike the
person in second place.HeHe
Glad to know it's second place rider. I'll be sweeping from now on. We saw a baby rattle snake on Wednesday night just before we reached Cavitt Jr. High.
Too much fun to not come.
