Mountainbike Lake Natoma! D12

Sutter St. Light Rail Station (map)

Selected By: Marsh

Ride Summary
Terrain: Rolling hills with a couple of hard (but short) climbs.
Distance: 12 Miles
Speed: 8 - 14 mph
Rider Level: D12 (Intermediate)
Sweep: Yes

Join us for the 12 mile dirt loop around Lake Natoma. This ride is intended for people who can sustain 9 MPH or more on dirt. We tend to go kinda' fast, but we are happy to reign it in if we're pressing too hard. We would rather enjoy your company and see you come back than break speed records. It should take no more than 2 hours. If you cannot maintain this pace, you are not being fair to the rest of the riders.
As always, helmets are required.
This event starts at the light rail station in the hope that you'll save gas, money and the environment by taking the train. The train costs $2.50 (cheaper than you can drive) and schedules can be seen here...

Just make sure your train says "Folsom" on it.

An RSVP is a Social Commitment. Your Hosts and Organizers go to great lengths and often personal expense to make these events fun and enjoyable for you. If you are unable to show up, please update your RSVP a minimum of 2 hours before the start time of the event.

I hope it's later in the day, because if it isn't, they're going to have some traffic issues. Maybe this would be a good day to travel anti-clockwise.

@ Phred ..that would be if I ran the time trial, to many burgers, beers, smores and lemon bars this summer :-|

@ Scott --- thumbtacks in the jersey pocket ...best "equilizer" ever ;-)

With my luck Javier, I would go for a handful of thumtacks and squeeze too hard and end up with 7 of them stuck in my hand. Then I would fall off my bike because of the pain and the other 18 of them would be stuck in my back and side. Perhaps a slow leaking mace canister tied to the back of my seat post will work??

I was really off, but still did ok. 3rd over all @ 17:16.74 min. The dude Kieth Hillier in my class broke the record @ 16:01.58. He beat it by .02 seconds.
